Beauty / Flares (2024)

This was a self-initiated studio project that we started in order to build our team's portfolio, as well as to hone our individual skillsets.

The main idea was to keep it simple and short, and something that we would be able to complete within a month. With these factors in mind, Deborah and I worked together to develop the brief for this project. This eventually led to us to focus primarily on lighting, rendering and composition for this project. 

We wanted to achieve a luxurious, high-end tone to this lipstick, and we hoped to evoke a feeling of satisfaction and comfort in these shorts. We were inspired by Tom Ford for its premium packaging, and we gave the lipstick various qualities that we wanted to portray in this project. 

As this project was a new format for us, I acknowledge that there were several shortcomings and many things we could've done better. This project ended up dragging on longer than we had expected as we worked on this project in between client projects and during whatever downtime there was.
