Alienware (2023)

As part of an internal studio project, we produced two videos showcasing products from the Alienware line: a pair of headphones and a mouse.

I had the opportunity to lead this project and I worked very closely with the team to ensure that we were all aligned, and that there was consistency in our visual outputs. I got to lead the art direction closely with my colleague Chen Xuan as well.

Our goal was to achieve a clean and elegant look with high contrast, incorporating blue tints to align with Alienware's branding.

We crafted a narrative surrounding the design language of Alienware, and we specifically focused on the 'alien' theme. Partly inspired by the sci-fi film 'Oblivion', we aimed to create minimal landscapes that seemed out of the world.

Our initial concept of the cave environments we built were sparked by idea of the grooves and ridges of our ears. Building a surreal environment that has never been seen before proved to be a challenge, with many questionable initial explorations.

(that I also mostly animated)

One of the challenges I faced was creating an environment set in a fantasy realm, or something that's never been seen before. I had multiple iterations (that will never see the light of day) before this final one. I had to source for many reference images of both caves in nature and manmade groove structures.
